FROM SAN FRANCISCO, BAY BRIDGE, BERKELEY/OAKLAND, RICHMOND BRIDGE, AND POINTS NORTH:

  1. Go 580–Hayward direction. Do NOT take 880.
  2. Take the 35th Ave. Exit.
  3. Turn left at the signal at the end of the exit onto 35th Ave.
  4. Go to the next signal (MacArthur) and turn left.
  5. Go about 1/4 mi to the first signal (Maple) and turn right.
  6. Go about 1/2 mi, through 1 stop sign, to Carlsen. Carlsen is marked by a "Road Closed" sign.
  7. Turn left on Carlsen, go to the end, turn right on Wilshire.
  8. Take Wilshire to the top of the hill, and turn left onto Kitchener Court. 3rd house on the left.

FROM THE SOUTH BAY OR THE SAN MATEO BRIDGE (EAST BAY SIDE):

  1. Take 880 North (towards Oakland) to 238 East to 580.
  2. Go North on 580 towards Berkeley/Oakland.
  3. Pass High St.; look for the Coolidge Ave–Fruitvale Ave exit.
  4. At the end of the exit is a signal. Make the HARD right onto Coolidge, and go to the first signal, which is MacArthur.
  5. Make the soft right onto MacArthur and take it to the first signal, which is Maple.
  6. Turn left on Maple and follow the directions from #6 above.
   
 

FROM WALNUT CREEK/LAFAYETTE AREA VIA HIGHWAY 24 TO HIGHWAY 13:

  1. Go South on Highway 13 to the Joaquin Miller/Lincoln exit.
  2. At the end of the exit is a stop sign. Veer left, go about 100 feet, and make the hard right onto Lincoln.
  3. Go west on Lincoln to the stop sign. Turn left at the third street on the left–hand side. This is important, as it is easy to miss the sign for Carmel. Carmel meets Lincoln on the left side only. There are stone walls on the corners on either side of Carmel, and a very large, light gray house on the right.
  4. Go left on Carmel, and follow it through three stop signs.
  5. Carmel ends at Maple. Turn left on Maple, go a few streets to Carlsen, and follow the directions above.
